Built for the Next Generation of Travellers

Tourism Adventure Group (TAG) is an integrated youth and lifestyle hospitality business operating across Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia and beyond. At the centre of our platform is a portfolio of 20 accommodation properties and more than 4,400 beds, supported by travel distribution, work and travel, tours and experiences, licensed venues and events.

Expanding Horizons: Growing Across Asia Pacific

From our roots in Australia and New Zealand, TAG’s accommodation portfolio has expanded into Thailand and Indonesia, with further opportunities under development. Today, the group operates accommodation across major gateway cities, beach and island destinations, surf locations and some of the region’s most recognised youth travel markets. Our flagship Nomads brand sits at the centre of the accommodation portfolio, supported by specialist travel and experience businesses across the wider TAG group.

TAG: The largest privately owned youth tourism platform in Oceania

TAG's 20 properties, 4,400+ beds, 13 licensed venues, in-house adventure tours, live events, and retail/ecommerce operations aren't run as separate businesses - they're built to feed the same guest back through the platform. Each line supports guest acquisition, retention, and margin for the others, which is what drives both loyalty and TAG's expansion economics.

Our Story: From Travelers to Trailblazers

TAG began with a small group of travelers turning their own trip into a business, Nomads. Since then, the group has grown through disciplined acquisition and investment: Nomads Hostels, Base Backpackers, K'gari Tours, and the Work & Travel Company are wholly owned; Mojo Surf and Happy Travels are strategic investments. Together they form a platform that compounds guest volume, brand reach, and operating leverage across the group.

The Adventure Continues: Expanding and Innovating

Since Nomads was founded in 2002, the group has grown through a consistent pattern: acquire or build a strong regional brand, then extend it into adventure tourism, venues, and travel services. That pattern has carried TAG into Thailand and Indonesia with accommodation, and into Portugal through Mojo Surf's tour operations, alongside its core Australia and New Zealand base. TAG's leadership team continues to evaluate new markets and acquisitions that strengthen the platform.

The Experience: Where Fun Lives

TAG's properties across Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Indonesia are designed around one principle: a satisfied guest is a repeat guest, and a repeat guest moves through more of the platform - a bed, a tour, a venue, a return trip. Guest experience and unit economics are treated as the same problem, not a trade-off.

Adventure Tours: Expanding Our Impact

Happy Travels, K'gari Safaris, K'gari Swag Tours, Mojo Surf, Island Expeditions, Travel Buddies and Meet The East Coast give TAG direct control over its highest-demand tour products. Owning this supply, rather than routing guests to third-party operators, protects margin and keeps the guest inside the TAG ecosystem for longer.

Licensed Venues and Events: Profits with a Party

TAG's 13 licensed venues; from city-center nightclubs to beachside bars, convert accommodation foot traffic into high-margin food, beverage and entertainment revenue. Signature events, including the Island Life Festival and Spring Break Australia, extend the brand's reach and reinforce guest loyalty beyond any single property.

Work & Travel: Redefining the Travel Experience
Sydney, Auckland & Melbourne

The Work & Travel Company acquisition gives TAG a presence across the full guest journey — from arrival support to ongoing placement services in Sydney, Auckland and Melbourne. It's the segment most directly responsible for turning a single trip into a longer, more valuable relationship with the platform.
